«Русский язык в упражнениях» предназначен для начинающих. Книга содержит около 800 упражнений, отражающих наиболее важные и типичные вопросы русской грамматики и лексики. Книга разделена на 2 части. В первой части (« Вводный лексико-грамматический курс») упражнения направлены на то, чтобы студенты усвоили структуру простого предложения, спряжения глаголов, формирование и употребление прошлого и настоящего времени, образование множественного числа существительных, прилагательных и местоимений. В книге используется словарь, не превышающий 330 слов. То, что в упражнениях задействовано ограниченное число лексических единиц, которые поэтому постоянно повторяются, помогает студентам сформировать лексический базис, необходимый для дальнейшего изучения русского языка. Во второй части книги («Основной курс») рассматривается употребление падежей, особенности глаголов: спряжения, вид, частица «ся», приставки. Студенты учатся строить сложные предложения с союзами и без, особое внимание уделяется союзам «который» и «чтобы». Книга может использоваться как дополнение к разговорному курсу.
