Introducing Yourself (2)
Let me introduce
myself. My name is Anne. My surname is Petrova. I am seventeen
years old. My birthday is September 12. I live in Saint
Petersburg with my family. Our family is quite big: there are
five of us — father, mother, brother, sister and me. We are a
very united family.
I study in the eleventh form of a secondary school, which I live
school this year. I want to enter the university. That is why I
have to study twice as hard as an ordinary student does. I do
not only do my best at school; but also attend a preparatory
course at the university.
As you can understand, I'm rather a busy person. But when I have
some free time in the evening, I like to read a good book. My
favourite Russian writer is Anton Chekhov. As Гт studying
English, I read a lot of books by English authors. I try to read
them in English, but this is not always easy. When there is a
good film on TV, I watch it with all my family. I also like
music, classical as well as modern.
I have more free time during weekends. I like to spend this time
with my family. Sometimes we all go to the cinema, or to some
concert. In winter we go skiing or just walk in the country.
As I said before, I plan to enter the university next year. I am
quite good at English, and I am interested in the culture of
Great Britain, the USA and other English-speaking countries, so
I want to go on with English at the University. I do not know
exactly what I will do after graduating from the university, but
I'm sure I'll find a good job as an interpreter or a teacher or
something like that, because the English language is very
popular now and everybody needs it.

Аня, моя фамилия Петрова. Мне 17 лет. Родилась я 12 сентября. Я
живу в Санкт-Петербурге с семьей. Наша семья довольно большая:
нас пять человек. У меня есть отец, мать, брат и сестра. Наша
семья очень дружная.
Я учусь в одиннадцатом классе средней школы. Я оканчиваю школу в
этом году и хочу поступить в университет. Поэтому мне приходится
заниматься вдвое усерднее, чем обычным ученикам. Я не только
делаю все возможное в школе, но и хожу на подготовительные курсы
при университете.
Как вы можете понять, я довольно занятой человек. Но когда у
меня вечером есть немного свободного времени, я люблю почитать
хорошую книгу. Мой любимый русский писатель — Антон Чехов.
Поскольку я изучаю английский, я читаю много книг английских
писателей. Я стараюсь читать их по-английски, но это не всегда
легко. Когда по телевизору показывают хороший фильм, я смотрю
его вместе со всей семьей. Я также люблю музыку, как
современную, так и классическую.
В выходные у меня больше свободного времени. Мне нравится
проводить это время с семьей. Иногда мы все идем в кино или на
какой-нибудь концерт. Зимой мы катаемся на лыжах или просто
гуляем за городом.
Как я уже сказала, я собираюсь поступить в университет в будущем
году. У меня хорошо идет английский, и меня интересует культура
Великобритании, США и других англоязычных стран, поэтому я хочу
продолжить изучение английского в университете. Я не знаю точно,
что я буду делать после окончания университета, но я уверена,
что найду хорошую работу — переводчика, учителя, или что-то
подобное, потому что английский язык сейчас популярен и нужен
всем.
