The Nature, Economics and Mineral Resources
The climatic
difference made a great impact on the nature of Russia.
In the north of the country we can see treeless tundra. Then
comes taiga, full of different animals — bears, tigers, wolves
and so on. There are a lot of plants there. Then mixed forests
come, then forest-steppes, and, finally, the steppes.
Russia has the richest supplies of the mineral resources in the
world. We produce more coal, oil, natural gas than any other
country in the world. We also have the richest diggings of iron
ore, copper, zinc, lead, nickel, aluminum and tin.
The economical development of our country depends much on our
natural resources. The heavy industry is well developed in the
country. Our country produces a lot of steel and heavy
machinery. The country has also a well developed chemical
industry. The light industry is also well-developed in Russia.
We produce a lot of textiles of different quality and colors.
A lot of transport is used in Russia. We have a well-developed
net of railways and highways. A river and maritime transport is
well-developed too and very important for the country's
economics. Aeroflot is one of the most important companies in
the world. Fishing industry is also very important for the
economics of the country.
Russia is often regarded as an agricultural country. We grow a
lot of crops. Grain has always been one of the most important
products in Russia.
We also grow a lot of potatoes and other vegetables.

ее природных ресурсов. Хорошо развита тяжелая промышленность. Мы
производим много стали и продукции тяжелого машиностроения. В
стране также хорошо развиты химическая промышленность и легкая
промышленность. Мы производим много тканей, разных по качеству и
цветам.
В России существует много видов транспорта. Мы имеем обширную
сеть железных и шоссейных дорог. Речной и морской транспорт
также важны для экономики страны. Аэрофлот — одна из важнейших
компаний в мире. Рыбная индустрия также важна для экономики
страны.
Россия часто рассматривается как аграрная страна. Мы выращиваем
много сельскохозяйственных культур. Зерно — один из важнейших
сельскохозяйственных продуктов.
Мы также выращиваем картофель и много других овощей.
