Moscow
Moscow is
situated in the European part of the country. There is an
opinion that Moscow like Rome may be called «The City on Seven
Hills»: the Borovitsky, the Sretensky, the Tverskoi, the
Tryokhgorie at Presnya, the Vorobyov Hills and the heights
around Taganka and Lefortovo. But the geographers are sure that
these heights can't be called hills.
Moscow is a beautiful and magnificent city. Its streets,
avenues, embankments, squares and boulevards are coundess. There
are also a lot of bridges, tunnels, overpasses and underground
crossings. The plan of Moscow looks like a spider web. The main
streets stretch out from the Kremlin and the cross streets lie
round it in circles.
Moscow is a strange mixture of various architectural styles. The
greater part of the city is modern. Many apartment buildings
have been built since the formation of the Soviet State. There
are some skyscrapers including the building of the Moscow State
University. Several gigantic hotels are able to accommodate
thousands of tourists. There are also some large stadiums. The
Central Stadium has over 100,000 places. Another big
sports-ground is the Dynamo Stadium. In the central districts
there are many stately dwellings with pillared doorways.
One of the famous and most beautiful buildings is Bolshoi
Theatre. Other well-known sights are the monument to the space
conquest of the Soviet Union, the huge department store, GUM and
so on.

могут называться холмами.
Москва — прекрасный величественный город. Его улицы, проспекты,
набережные, площади и бульвары бесчисленны. Также там множество
мостов, тоннелей, наземных и подземных переходов.
План Москвы похож на паутинную сеть. Главные улицы тянутся от
Кремля, поперечные ложатся вокруг него кольцами.
Москва — это уникальная смесь разных архитектурных стилей.
Большая часть города современная. После образования Советского
государства было построено много многоквартирных зданий. Есть
несколько небоскребов, в том числе здание Московского
государственного университета.
Несколько огромных отелей способны принять тысячи туристов.
Также есть несколько крупных стадионов. Центральный стадион
имеет более 100000 мест.
Еще одно спортивное сооружение — стадион «Динамо».
В центральных районах столицы много величественных домов с
порталами, украшенными колоннами.
Одно из самых красивых и известных зданий — Большой театр.
Широко известны такие достопримечательности, как памятник
космическим завоеваниям Советского Союза, огромный универмаг,
ГУМ и много других.
